Sunporch & Garage Addition for a Historic Home Renovation in St. Louis

Following the success of our previous porch additions in the Compton Heights neighborhood of St. Louis, CORE10 then designed a stunning new sunporch for this historic home on Russell.

Using a miniature cathedral plan, this addition continues the dark stained wood materials of the original house out into a full glass room, complete with a glass ceiling and open wood truss structure to house a hot tub, bar, and living space with an indoor/outdoor fireplace.  As an added benefit, there is a traditional cupola on top with an integrated attic fan to turn the whole room into a naturally cooled summer retreat.  As part of an entire backyard renovation, complete with a life size chess board, raised garden beds, and a babbling brook fountain, CORE10 completed the look with a new 4-car garage in the back following the same tradition of red brick and slate gables found on the house.  This is truly another tranquil garden retreat in the heart of the city.
